01:04:50
From a systemic level, how do we support teachers ideologies to mediate equitable conversations about race?

01:06:59
Folks hear Sidney’s question online?

01:07:05
Yes!

01:07:07
Yes.

01:07:09
ya

01:08:56
One ideology I wonder about is that learning takes place in the mind and manifests in talk and written word. What would it mean to pay more attention to our bodies, emotions, and other forms of communication. For example, your talk was focused on what the interlocutors were saying, and less about the coordination of bodies and emotional expressions. Are emotions (internal or externalized) and other forms of expression also important aspects of the reinforcement or contestation of ideologies getting constructed in interaction?

01:09:06
Sorry I can’t speak for technicality. I have one question, how would you suggest making it possible to engage students in this type of activities in contexts where criticism of dominant ideologies can put nondominant students in vulnerable situation or situations that dehumanise them or dehumanise communities they relate to (e.g. Yemen example or describing their extended societies as “terrorists”)?

01:09:16
Sorry that was longer than expected, Bill. Feel free to edit.

01:10:16
No problem. Can read — will alternate room and online Qs

01:10:29
Same here feel free to rephrase

01:12:18
my question: In your conceptualizations of ideology, power, and improvisation, there seems to be a view of learning as developing futures in-the-moment. Wondering how a vision of future fits into how you conceptualize what disciplinary content is currently for teachers and what it can be.

01:12:46
Thank you, Thomas!

01:30:15
thanks so much for that answer Thomas! (and thanks for reading the ? Bill)

01:31:30
I love that idea, Thomas! How do we notice expansive openings?

01:31:41
'getting better attuned to listening to those expansive moments" is a really cool way to share that
