Bipartisanship (and Friendship) Happen! University of Colorado President, Mark Kennedy & University of Massachusetts President, Marty Meehan
Join us for a public conversation between CU President Mark Kennedy and UMass President Marty Meehan who served in the U.S. House of Representatives together. Kennedy as a Republican and Meehan as a Democrat worked across the aisle on a range of issues, and in the process, they formed an enduring friendship.
The afternoon will begin with a discussion about their friendship as it continues to be a foundation as they serve as university presidents in a time of great challenge for higher education. They will then engage in a wide-ranging conversation about issues on which they agree, disagree, and half-agree. The Center of the American West’s Faculty Director and Chair of the Board, Patty Limerick will moderate the conversation.
This event is part of the Center’s “Bipartisanship (and Friendship) Happen!” series, which brings pairs of accomplished and dedicated public officials together to talk about their determination to extend the ties of shared enterprise and friendship across the divisions of recent times.
